Welcome to Low and Slow Living: A Journey to Simpler, More Sustainable Days

Hi, I’m PJ, the woman behind Low and Slow Livin‘. I’m a mom to a high energy zoo of kids, dogs, and cats, learning how to slow things down in a world that’s always speeding up. Life in our household is anything but quiet, but it’s full of love, laughter, and a lot of trips to the park. Between the school drop-offs & pick-ups, work meetings, pet appointments, and weekend errands, I know how hard it can be to find time to just take a moment and breathe.

That’s where Low and Slow Livin‘ comes in. This is the space is where I share the simple meals I cook, the crafts I try (and fail), and the joy I find in making things from scratch, both as a creative outlet and as a way to spend less time scrolling on TikTok. It’s a place for me to document how I’m learning to embrace the slower, more intentional moments that make my life meaningful, without feeling the constant chest-tightening pressure to keep up with the fast pace around me.

On this site, I root my choices in care for the planet, for my home, and for the people and pets who fill it. Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for me; it’s a way of life. From cooking meals that minimize waste (shoutout to my vacuum of a dog) to finding creative ways to make our lives more eco-friendly, I’m constantly exploring new ways to live with purpose all while balancing a busy family life.

My journey isn’t about perfection. It’s about finding meaning in the mess, and choosing sustainability, creativity, and intention whenever I can. I’m not perfect (nor do I strive to be), but I believe that small, consistent changes can lead to big differences. After all, perfection can be the enemy of progress.

Whether it’s a recipe that saves time and mental load, a DIY project to make our home maintenance more efficient, or just sharing a moment of joy in the chaos, I want to help you find ways to slow down and enjoy the process, no matter how busy life gets.

In this blog, I’ll share what works for my family to be able to live more sustainably, create time-efficient recipes, and DIY projects that fit into the daily rhythm of family life. I’m here to help you make small shifts that add up to a big impact. Because sustainability doesn’t have to be hard or overwhelming: it can be as simple as being mindful of what we use, what we make, and how we spend our time.

So thank you for being here! I’m so excited to share this journey with you. I hope you’ll find something here that helps you to take a moment to slow down, make something with your hands, and find a little more peace in your everyday life. Here’s to living low, slow, and sustainably. We can do this together!
